Have any of you used wine bottles for your centerpieces? I would like to spray paint them gold and silver, and fill them with flowers. If you’ve gone that route, how easy/hard was it? Any tips? Would you do it again?

I am doing this for my wedding and just finished. I LOVE THEM! I did silver spray paint with glitter. They are beautiful and were easy to do.

I also am using wine bottles! Figured since my friends and family love their wine, I could just take their bottles. The only thing I can say, delabeling them SUCKED! I had to do about 80 of them, and I did not enjoy that. As for spray painting.. take your time and do multiple layers. The first few I did I biffed completely!

That would look great! I spray painted vases and they turned out great!

Hi! question, what kind of paint did you use? If you remember. Thanks!

I think this would be a relatively easy DIY that’ll look really good once you’re finished.

The best part of this DIY is drinking the wine beforehand! 😉
Make sure to use spray paint primer and spray a good distance away from the bottles in one sweeping motion. Thin coats only! I’m speaking from experience here since I ruined a few bottles in my own centerpieces doing something similar, but too late now. (I’m sure guests won’t care that much if there are air bubbles or drips)

I’m using some for the ends of my farm tables. Planning on doing copper with glitter; having bronze lanterns in the center 🙂
