I’ve seen them with battery operated fairy lights inside – that looks really pretty!

I have seen vases without flowers when they are blue glass or ginger jars. You could always put a tapered candle on top of yours to make it look romantic.

I have a hard time picturing them without something else – candles, letters to spell something, etc. Just the bottles is hard for me to picture looking good. Something like this might work, though.

It can be done, but is often not done well. 3 wine bottles clustered together do not a centerpiece make.

You need a variety of sizes, finishes, heights, perhaps incorporating beer bottles or other bottles as well.

not so well done

well done

oregonbride82 :  eh, i never think wine bottles look good with or without flowers. They just look like…wine bottles. There are so many gorgeous glass jars/bottles that could be repurposed for gorgeous centerpieces, that it always feels like such a shame when wine bottles are used

jellybellynelly :  agreed – lanterns are lovely! I’m assuming that OP is looking for something free or nearly free though

Spray painted wine bottles always look so blah to me. Very few people have the steady hand and technique to spray paint glass properly so they always end up either streaky or drippy. What about something like this instead? You could find bottles in a variety of colors (amber, clear, green, red, etc. whatever matches your color scheme) and cut the bottoms using a glass cutter. These would be cheap, simple to assemble, and the candlelight would be super romantic on your tables especially if you cut each of the three bottles at a different height.
