So Maid/Matron of Honor and I are working on making wine cork place card holders… I bought like 200 used wine corks on Ebay, some x-acto knives and cutting boards and thought this project would be a breeze! NOT! It’s so hard to get the slit deep enough, yet thin enough to hold the cards in place.
Has anyone else done this project with wine corks before? Do you guys know of an easier way than using x-acto knives? (I cut myself 3 times last night…3!) Wish me luck ๐ *Ps: that’s not my picture, just there for an example ๐

Miss Cheeseburger just had a post about this, it did seem very difficult. Not sure it if will help but check out her blog post http://www.weddingbee.com/2009/11/24/put-a-cork-in-it-2-harder-than-it-looks/

Oh my gosh… I can just imagine you trying to cut the corks w/ x-acto blades! You are so lucky you didn’t cut yourself ๐

I think the saw ended up being the easiest when we did it http://www.weddingbee.com/2009/01/19/wine-cork-place-cards/
