Maybe the winery you’re getting married at has a stash?

You could always go around to wineries and ask if they have any corks for sale, they might give it to you at wholesale price!

We made ours… I bought like 200 good condition wine corks from a seller on Ebay.  It was around 30 bucks with shipping for the whole lot of them.  It takes some time, patience and pain to make them, but my bridesmaids and I had fun anyways ๐Ÿ™‚

We made ours for the rehearsal dinner. I just asked my girlfriends and aunts/moms to save me their corks by the time the wedding came I had way more then I needed.

To cut them my Fiance used a vice to hold them in place and then he took a small handsaw (non-powered) and cut a slit in them for me on one side and cut the other half off to keep them flat.

i went to a local wine bar and asked them to save their corks, plus all of my friends and family members. I took me about a month to get them all

I see people getting rid of them on freecycle.org all the time. ๐Ÿ™‚

I would try tasting rooms, or ask if you can set up a jar for them at a few of them.

I’ve got us, a few friends, my Future Mother-In-Law, and all of her friends saving corks for us. ๐Ÿ™‚ We’re only a 50-guest wedding so I’m hoping that will be enough. We’re actually not using them as place cards, but to fill in mason jars and perhaps to tie escort cards to.

Oh, and I was super lucky when best-friend-bridesmaid was working at an Italian restaurant/wine bar, she saved hundreds for me in no time just collecting them from people’s tables after they left! Too bad she has a different job now. ๐Ÿ™‚
