I am having my wedding at reception at Winfrey Point at White Rock Lake in Dallas. I would love to hear from anyone who has used that venue. We are trying to figure out how to do the rehearsal since I am assuming we will not be able to rehearse at the site. My fiance’ is freaking out and thinks we should change venues. I have already paid the deposit and signed the contract as well as ordered my invitations. I am also curious how anyone set up the main room to hold the ceremony as well as the reception. Help!

Although I have no experience with the area, have you contacted the site to see about doing a rehearsal? Maybe you could at least get everyone together there for a very quick 15-20 minute run-through? I wouldn’t rule it out on assumptions until you’ve actually contacted the site – it never hurts to ask!!

I contacted them for advice but since it is owned by the city they did not seemed concerned and had no idea how it is normally handled. I have an appointment to view the inside of the facility on Wednesday. My mom suggested the same(quick run through.)

I would imagine you can just show up and do a run-through, especially if the ceremony will be outside. I was able just to pull up and poke around there one afternoon when considering it for our wedding site. Have you tried hopping on the knot boards to see if any of the women married there are still around, or if anybody posting knows what their procedure is? It’s such a pretty venue — don’t change until you know for sure a rehearsal won’t work out!

Hi, I know I’m late, but I am having my wedding at Winfrey Point at the end of march. DId you have a planner? Do you have any pics of the decor that you used?

our wedding will be there may 16. the ceremony will be outside (weather permitting) so for us, rehearsing isn’t an issue. we’ll probably just do a quick run-through in my backyard!
