So I live in michigan and my wedding is May 15 of this year. I love all the planning but doing it during such a cold and dark time is depressing! Im so sick of the cold, bad roads, nothing to do and the heating bill! Im usually a very up beat positive person but my gosh! The….snow….never…..stops! Ugh Michigan sucks in the winter! Thanks for letting me vent!

I’m in Atlanta, so we don’t get much of a winter. I do get a little jealous of y’alls snow days though. I’d love to get stuck at home for a day or two so that I could get some stuff done. 🙂

lol snow days! Im not joking either….I come from a hick town and if you could get your 4 wheel drive truck or tractor through the snow we didnt have a snow day. It takes alot up hear to get those. I have alot of fam down south and if they get a dusting thay have a snow day since its so rare.

We get snow days if it gets too cold sometimes. (Cause our heating systems aren’t designed to keep up.)

yes I’m hoping so! Its so weird. I grew up on the west coast of Michigan right on Lake Michigan and I knew all about Lake effect snow…Im not sure why i’m not use to it yet! It must be like giving birth. You forget how bad it was and think “ah I can go through it again” and when you do you want it to be the last time ever! lol

My general lack of enthusiasm for winter (limited sunlight, frigid temperatures, the need to wear more than one layer, etc…) turned into passionate HATE when I had a terrible fall two weeks ago.
Philadelphia has been buried under piles of dirty snow and ice almost all season, and during one of the worst storms two weeks ago, I was leaving my fiance’s house, bundled up to the neck and wearing my heavy-duty snow boots. I put my foot on the icy steps, and it turns out that it was in fact a sheet of slanted ICE, covered in snow. My legs flew out from under me, and I landed square on my pelvis. It’s more than a bruise. It’s a fracture. I have a broken hip at age 24. Could be much worse – I’m thankful that I’m on the mend and I can move around.
So yeah, I’m over this. Bring on spring.

@LadyJDag – That really stinks. I hope your recovery is fast!
I have always hated the winter. The short days, gloomy skies, the frigid temps and of course the damn snow. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind working from home at all but I hate when I am stuck inside. I hate freezing my toesies off. And now since I am preggie, the biggest concern at this time is making sure I do not fall. How do you prevent that when there is snow and / or ice everywhere?
I say Blah to winter! Bring on the spring. I want to wear short sleeves and flip-flops!

I’m so ready for Spring! Think I would enjoy the winter more if my job gave us snow days! But i’m sitting here at work while Fiance (who is a teacher) is at home enjoying his snow day…
