I’ve been in need of a well-made, comfy, cozy, easy to remove, waterproof winter boot to help me through the cold. My Mom surprised me last night by saying she’s buying me a pair of waterproof UGGs and I’m super stoked but … according to the online dimensions, they won’t fit my large calves! (She’s going to ship them from the States and I can’t try them on before because my little town doesn’t stock any new UGG models.)
I’ve been on Zappos and read every single review on the model she picked out for me (UGG Belfair) and there’s tons of reviews – but I found another pair I may be more interested in. Problem is, there’s absolutely NO reviews anywhere.
So I figured I’ll ask here and see if my fellow Bees have any recommendations for a good winter boot or if anyone’s tried the UGG Lonnie

I LOVE my uggs but have found that they just really dont work for winter (especially here in Upstate, NY). I, as well as most of the women in my family, have bogs. They’re super comfy, warm and easy to take on/off. They also come in a bunch of different designs.
I have these ones…
EDIT: Sorry, clicked submit a little pre-maturely. They run around $100 a pair but they will last FOREVER. I only got mine last year but my mom has had hers for about 5 years and they look brand new.

Aren’t they cute? I totally suggest getting ones like the pic I posted. Having the handle to pull them on is SOOOOO “handy”. With my other boots I had to wear multiple pairs of socks just to keep my feet warm in the snow. With these, I wear a normal pair of socks and my feet are never cold. I’ve never met anyone who didn’t love them after trying them.

@UpstateCait: Oooooh those are super cute! Are they comfy enough for everyday walking around? I’m new to the cold and snow and this would be my first real pair of winter boots.
By The Way, the new Uggs look totally different and are waterproof with a Vibram outersole.
These seem to have the best reviews of the bunch:

There is a HELP feature and a LIVE HELP featue on Zappos website.
Use that to ask them to measure the circumference of the top of the boot in your size.

Those Uggs look like Sorels, which are also great winter boots. When I studied abroad in Denmark (super cold and super snowy!) everyone had them there.

@Vitsippa: SUPER comfy!
This post inspired me to dig out my “classic cardys” and wear them around the house!
I tried to wear these last year during a snow storm before I got my bogs. That was a disaster! But they’re so damn cute!
