If I were just going to be outside for a little bit and doing my pics out there I would just grin and bare it and wear the coat on the way to the photo location and on the way back. I have had to do that a few times for events in MA.

I had a lace overlay, a white cape and black jacket. The 3 did the trick, but the black full sleave jacket was def the warmest… the other 3 I could only wear for a bit before being completely frozen and blue!

I wore a wrap, but it depends on where you’re getting married and how cold it’s going to be.

I had a faux fur shrug for our outdoor ceremony and then a plaid jacket and mittens for the ski hill.  All worked really well.

But obviously I did take them off for some nicer pictures:

We were married in Lutsen, MN the end of September. There was a chance it would be very chilly during our evening ceremony overlooking lake superior. I was also looking for a coat to wear and couldn’t find anything so I designed and made my own. I made my bridesmaids coats also. It ended up not being cold at all during the day, but it was nice to have at night going from place to place. we also had a pre-wedding cocktail hour, and with my coat on, my dress was still a surprise walking down the aisle. 🙂

What a lovely coat! May I enquire what pattern you used?

I had a faux fur mini jacket/shrug and my bridesmaids had cardigans.

It was still pretty cold. I did a few pics with the jacket and then took it off for some ( and told my photographer to photoshop my goosebumps lol…you couldnt actually see them in any pics).

I didn’t think I would like the pics with the jacket but they still looked beautiful.
