@lastminutedetails: We have, but we’re both very traditional-minded and we would prefer trying to plan something to include our family and friends (100 people is just our 1st tier family) even if it means having to sacrifice a few things in order to reduce the costs.
Thanks for the link to Pigeon Hill, I just sent them a request and hopefully they come back with something reasonable 🙂

@GB55: Are you still looking for a place? It’s in New Husband but the Shaker Museum is really beautiful, it’s $2500 to rent but you can bring in whatever caterer you want (or DIY!) and it includes all necessary rentals.

@love108: We actually got married in March at the lovely Hampton Inn in Burlington. I couldn’t have asked for a better per person price and it included food, cake, and the reception room! The guy is very willing to negotiate so long as you’re willing to cut in a few places (we didn’t want flower centerpieces so that cut our per person price). Overall, it cost us $36/pp including a buffet dinner, cold apps, wedding cake, champagne toast, complimentary soft drinks, room rental, and all tables and cutlery. It was the best price around and they were very accommodating with all our requests. I would highly recommend them!
