We’ve been engaged for a few months and have been totally unable to start anything because we couldn’t pick a date. Suddenly, 2/26/11 is feeling really good to me. I love the winter wonderland feel, I love snow, I love discounted winter prices… I’m really excited about it! The only thing I’m worried about is photography.
1) It gets dark really early so unless the ceremony is at like 2 or 3 there won’t be any sunlight for photos afterwards
2) It’s COLD!!
So winter-brides…. what did you do? Did you forgo the traditional outdoor shots or did you suck it up in the cold? Did you take night photos? I would love to see any winter wedding photos!!

I got married in December in Seattle, so there was no snow on the ground, but it was friggin’ cold! We did outdoor shots for about 2 hours, and honestly, I was so high on adrenaline, I didn’t eve notice the cold until we got back in the limo and my fingers were practically numb! All my bridesmaids were huddles up in shawls while we were outside- I didn’t wear anything over my dress, and it was fine.
We did a first look, so we got the majority of our pictures in daylight. However, we wanted evening pictures as well, so during our cocktail hour, we snuck outside and had a few more taken.

We are planning on doing the majority of the pictures before the ceremony to allow for outdoor pictures with some natural light. I love winter weddings and the gorgeous pictures in the snow. I can’t wait until our day!!
