- Wedding: January 2011 - Vintage Villas
We’re planning on doing most of them before the ceremony while it’s still light, and then just doing the ones that Fiance and I are both in after the ceremony (no first look for us!). I think our photographer said she could do night shots and just bring lighting that we can use. Hopefully that’s what we’ll be doing, ’cause I love outdoor shots!!!!

I’m so jealous of all these photos, i’m getting married 8th Jan 2011 and in the UK we can’t guarantee even white slush let alone snow!
Fingers crossed we’ll get some!

It is common here to have the ceremony, have a break, and then have a reception. We are planning on having our ceremony around 2, and then having lots of time for outdoor photos. I just hope it isn’t too windy that day!

@ Corgitales : make SURE you get a photographer who has taken wedding pictures in snow before!! not every photographer can do snow shots, unless they are a pro. Its not extremely technological, but in cold weather the lens will fog up & the exposures are tricky due to the extreme whiteness of the snow, plus your white dress can make it confusing to the camera & if your photographer doesn’t know how to adjust this, bad things may happen. You can look blue. Not trying to worry you, just find a photographer that has done one before & I’m sure they will be beautiful :). I personally LOVE the look that winter weddings have, they’re absolutely beautiful!! You can try googling “snow wedding” under images & see a ton of examples!
& I recommend doing the ceremony & everything inside… we don’t want you guys getting sick or not be able to concentrate on anything but being freezing! when you have the pics of you & your husband together, do them outside because they don’t take an extremely long time, maybe get some winter weather shoes to wear in the snow. Snow or no snow, outside photos are nearly ALWAYS better than inside ones, in my personal opinion :). Have fun!

We did our photos outside in Vermont and it was cold and windy. I have only gotten a few teaser pics back but I like them so far. I would say though that as much as I love winter and the romantic look of winter snow pictures, I think if it was warmer I would have felt a little more care free!

Just thought I’d share some winter wedding photos I recently took. The funny part was the wedding was in Alabama, where it has only snowed twice in the past four years and it snowed on their Wedding Day! I’m posting small so I can post a few. The last one is definitely a wedding-party snowball fight haha! I definitely say go for it.
