If I were going for a winter wonderland look, I would leave out the red petals and use white or silver.

You can use branches like the pp posted- you can even make your own. Just paint some branches that you can get free off craigslist with white glue and sprinkle with epsom salts or fake crystals you can get in bulk at Michael’s. Stand them up in clear or white glass vases on either side of the altar.

If you want to go all out, you could spray paint some large branches white, stand them up in pots with plaster of paris and use them to line the aisle.

Another idea would be to use birch limbs, simply standing straight up in a clear glass vase- use all white flowers with dusty miller for silver foliage.

or do a backdrop with birch branches

use cotton as a base instead of the silver balls

I wouldn’t try to cover the doors. I would  treat those doors as if they were the entrance to a home and hang two icy winter wreaths on the doors. With the trees on either side, you could even build a platform to place in front of the door.Cover it with snow cloth and it will enhance the image and give your guests a better view of the ceremony.

  ps  not these wreaths!
