What about velvet ?

I don’t know where you’re from ; I can tell you that here in Québec it’s snowing today and we’re already wearing winter coats. When it goes -30 outside just like it might for our wedding in January, our best choice when it comes to warmth is still wool, fur and down/feathers coats. Or imitations, which are cheaper. So I’m definitely wearing a faux-fur or wool coat since our ceremony is outside, too !

The problem with polyester and other materials for coats is that is doesn’t really look good with a wedding dress, they’re more sporty. :/

What about a satin or velvet cape? I have seen some lovely pictures of brides in those for winter weddings

Cardigans are cute too

I was going to go the cardigan route (since I wear them on a regular basis) until my SIL made me a gorgeous shawl. It was the perfect cover-up for later in the evening when I got chilly.

Here are a few ideas. I’m getting married in winter and I’m a vegetarian too. I’m wearing faux fur though. I like the look of fur, but not the cruelty.

@Cory_loves_this_girl: Such a cute photo. The lilac really pops against everything else that is white.

I”ll be wearing a cardigan if it’s chilly (getting married in Florida, so hopefully it won’t be!). I’m think something cute and beaded, but I haven’t picked anything out yet.

@SimplyEuphoric:  Your wedding is in early/mid October? Depending on where it is you are located you may be okay in a bolero or wrap. I will need to figure that out as well ๐Ÿ™‚ Butnot until after I get the dress … Then again if it is anything like the beginning of this October it will hopefully be nice enough thattheweather won’t be areal problem.

Bumping! Winter bride over here. I’ve never owned a fur coat. (I have nothing against people who wear them, it’s just not my forte.)

For the time being, I’m planning on wearing a cardigan for being outside, unless something else catches my eye ๐Ÿ™‚

@SimplyEuphoric:  Then I’d go with the cardigan OR jacket whichever suits your style best. You’re lucky you get to wear something ”light” to keep you warm ; I must say this will be quite a challenge for me at that time of the year, lol ! But even if I spend the whole winter complaining about the cold, I actually love snow. When I woke up yesterday and saw everything was white outside, I was all happy and excited like a kid. I can’t help it, it feels (and looks) magical and romantic. ๐Ÿ™‚
