Just curious how you are going to deorate your winter wedding? Or if it is a xmasy type of wedding as well?
Do you have any special winter *touches*(not just talking about decor here) to make it more special, as well?

I’m using deep red, ivory, and black for my colors, so that will give it a romantic, Christmasy feel. We’re not going to decorate the church much, using the church’s decorations they already have. Our flowers are also going to be ivory and black magic roses with ferns and baby’s breath. Then I’m having a cape made by my aunt to stay warm outside, and having all the girls bring their snowboots to take pictures in the snow. Not sure of any other ideas yet…. But I guess mine is more of a wintery theme, than Christmas haha..

some christmasy touches im planning on are:
– a money/card box in that looks like a gingerbread house
– a snow scene cake
– christmas trees on either side of the head table

The imaginary winter wedding I’ve planned in my head looks something like this —
Gold bridesmaids dresses with deep red flowers and berries and greens. My previous imaginary winter wedding had dark green dresses, but my real life friend is having them next October for her wedding. I guess it shouldn’t matter in my imagination, but you know how it is…
Ivory tablecloths with gold/champagne overlays and centerpieces that are a candle in a hurricane surrounded by greens with pinecones and berries nestled in them
Christmas trees and lots of lights — what can I say? Candles, too.
I have a collection of Danbury Mint ornaments that would probably be used somewhere like the card table.
Dinner music would be of the classic Christmas variety
I would wear lace sleeves (well I plan to anyway but longer ones)
Wrapping the favors to look like little Christmas presents with bows
Pictures from my dream venue that is both too expensive and too far away to be practical:

Our wedding date is 12-11-10, so we’re bumping right up against the holiday season. We’ve selected red as one of our colors and most of our decor is snowflake/branch/bird designs. We are having 6 decorated Christmas trees behind our wedding party (3 on either side of the altar arch). Since we’re getting married at my parents’ house, the entire inside and outside will already be decked out. My dad puts up over 200,000 lights every year! This is a picture of their house from 2 or 3 years ago:
For the wedding, he’s replacing the green lights with white and/or red since green isn’t one of our colors 😉
Oh, and we’re also using bright red and white poinsettias to decorate the lanai (where the cocktail party will be held). I’m very excited!

When we were considering a Christmas wedding one idea we had was to have candles surrounded by ornaments in our chosen colors. Also, you could serve mini apple pies or sugar cookies along with the cake. Or even make sugar cookies in Christmas shapes for favors!

We did a christmas tree instead of a gift table – it was a big hit!
We also played christmas music during the cocktail hour.
