So, I know that those awesome personalized wire hangers have been mentioned a few times. (These: http://www.etsy.com/listing/26651786/the-original-silver-lingerie-wedding-dre)
Well, Project Wedding posted a tutorial on how to DIY one! I thought I’d share it with the bees, since we are such amazing, crafty ladies.
I think I might tackle making one.

awesome i love that someone has tried and succeeded doing this themselves! I do have to ask though, how sturdy are they? I wanted to make one for myself but my wedding dress is a bit heavy

We did ours a little differently. I didn’t think the entire hanger out of wire would hold the weight of a dress, so we bought wooden hangers and drilled a hole at each end. We formed our letters out of 14 gauge wire, but since it’s not holding any weight, you could go much thinner and it would be easier to bend and manipulate. Once we had the word formed, we put it through the drilled hole and wrapped it around the hanger. I’m really liking the results! I’m going to use them for the BM’s dresses on wedding day. The letters are a little hard to connect in some instances and they aren’t perfect, but it’ll work!

They have some beautiful cast iron hangers that would look really nice with this on them at Hobby Lobby. I just picked up a ton of them for the pics of my dress and the antique dresses that I will wear later. They were only $1.19.

Do you guys think there is some way of doing it with a lingerie hanger???

@ Future Mrs Martin: if you can figure out a way to poke the wire through the top of the hanger or wrap it around it, it could work!
