(Closed) Wire Name Hangers – if you weren't the bride…

posted 7 years ago in Bridesmaids
  • poll: If you weren't the bride would you think a name hanger was weird?

Name hangers are only cute for the Bride

Name hangers are only cute for the bridal party in pictures

    Name hangers are always cute

    They're just weird period.

I have another opinion that I will explain

If you’re worried they might not keep them or use them again, just don’t spend $25 a piece.  This etsy seller has just the wire name listed for $2.50 and you can attach it to a hanger easily.

I don’t have a problem with them, but I don’t consider them a “bridesmaids gift” I think they are a prop for the bride to use during photos which she will then have no further use for so might aswell give to the bridesmaids.  I wouldn’t take their monetary value into my bridesmaid gifts budget, I would put them in my photography budget.

my thoughts exactly. They are really just a photo prop, and as I’ve read on the boards here, most BM’s don’t want every their “gifts” to be all wedding day items (earings/necklace/robes/hangers/etc)

I would “forget” to take it home with me.  Sorry but I am not a fan.

MsGinkgo: I would love them 🙂 I think they are super adorable! I am doing them and I am getting them from an awesome seller on Etsy. I am doing Mrs. New Last Name and for my bridesmaids I am doing their first names. I showed my bridesmaids and they love them! I can’t wait for pictures also! They are also not my bridesmaids gifts since I am getting them jewelry. So it’s just added fun 😀

I seriously do not get the hype surrounding these. I’d rather have a $10 Starbucks card than hanger with my name on it that will probably go in my guest room closet because it won’t match or sit flush with the rest of the shit in my closet.

I bought my bridesmaids these. I got all 6 including my own for $25. I got them a TON of other gifts as well. I have really amazing Bridemaids who are going to be happy with what they get because of the thought that I put into their gifts.

I don’t care what gifts my friends give me at any point in time, it’s really about the thought they put behind it.
