@Denverbirdlet – ME TOO! My fiance and I are getting married in Door County. He is from Green Bay, but I’m from TX and almost all of our guests are out-of-state. We wanted a really casual, local WI rehearsal dinner to welcome everyone so we’re doing a Fish boil with whitefish and all the trimmings (potatoes, corn, onion, coleslaw, etc.) and beer and cherry pie!

Rawrkitty – that sounds great! I love a good fish fry, and I really haven’t found anywhere to get a good one in Denver. it seemed like a nice WI welcome to our out of town guests as well.
and ummm, cheese curds are amazing. NOM

there will definitely be some spotted cow in attendance. and some capital amber and capital island wheat. hey, has anyone tried capital brewery’s new one? It’s called Wisconsin Supper Club – I think it sounds great and i love the name!

It is TERRIBLE. It tastes like $5/cup beer from a college kegger!

I think a rehearsal dinner should be whatever the bride and groom wants it to be. Since our families are all traveling from out of town for our wedding, we are just having pizza and sandwiches at the Golf Club/hotel where our wedding/reception is the next day…that way they can show up Thursday night and not have to worry about driving their cars until Saturday afternoon!

I like Supper Club in a bottle – hate it in a cup (was just at Capital Brewery this weekend and in the plastic cup it was reminiscent of Miller Lite).
We’re doing a lower-key rehearsal dinner too at a downtown restaurant (no deposit or room rental fee – yay!).
Where are you going for the fish fry rehearsal dinner? We’re always on the lookout for new deliciousness!

Never been – I’ll have to broaden my horizons and venture through the isthmus to get there!

its a little run down – very much a wisconsin style bar/supper club. but the food is really good and they carry local microbrews on tap.

Kavanaughs is fabulous – the food is great and the service is wonderful! And, it’s owned by the family of a student in my class 🙂 Enjoy your Wisconsin fish fry!!

@denverbirdlet:
What a cute idea! Just be sure to offer an alternative should a guest not eat fish..maybe chicken wings or really great pizza, have fun!
