This has been one hell of a rollercoaster ride for me. I have gone it alone most of the way, I really wish i would have found this site this sooner. Let me share some of the ride.
First off, we had a beautiful park picked out for the ceremony. 450.00 *gasp* dollars to hold there ceremony there, but they agreed it would be okay to make payments, as long as the final payment would be made beffore the first of August. No problem, we worked it into our budget, and began making payments. In May we recieved an email from the park stating our date would be researved as soon as the fianl payment was made…. UMMM no, I am not going to pay you 450.00 just to have you turn around and say the date is not available.
Then, telling my officiant this story, she was gracious, and invited us to hold the ceremony at her house, she was very excited about the whole thing. About a week beffore the invitations weent to the printers, I attempted to contact her, to get directions to her house so that I could have the directions printed into the invitations. I got no reply from her, I emailed, and I called, my Fiance emailed and phoned her. still no reply. Our phone calls were no longer sent to voice mail, we could not leave a message. After about a week of this, and the printer date looming, we decided to come up with yet another location.
We put a deposit down on a beautiful park not far from our house, and proceeded with the invitations. A few days after we secured the 3rd location, the officiant finally drops us an email… “Although I love hearing about your wedding plans, it upsets me that you write and call SO MUCH, I am a very busy woman”…blah blah bblah… she ended her email with “once I have read my 265 emails, I will be happy to answer ALL your questions”
I fired her, right then and there.
We have since found a new officiant who seems quite willing to work with us, the park is so helpful to us, and the wedding plans are finally falling into place. 3 weeks til the big day. We are getting married on the 23rd, it is the full moon and the autumn equinox.
Heres to hoping the rollercoaster ride is over, and the nextt 3 weeks run smoothly. (yes I am stressed about getting everythign done)
