I’ve thought the same thing. Sometimes I rant and later just want to get rid of it… It’s very, very annoying this site doesn’t allow you to take stuff down. It should be changed :/

Yes. A couple weeks ago I shared a very very private personal story with a poster in hopes it will give them some insight. Like an iditot I forgot about the new deletion policy.

So even though the mod agreed they understood why I would want the post taken down afterwards bc of the new policy they could not.

Unfortunately, for me, it just means in the future I will be even less willing to share personal stories.

I’ve only posted 1 vent and I feel like that… I refrained for over a yr and now I’m sure I’ll refrain indefinitely. lol

that really should be changed though.. I totally agree

I agree. When I first joined, I posted a lot of things I regret. I definitely wish I could have those posts deleted but it is the internet after all. I can’t really blame anyone but myself for the threads/posts that I regret. While it would be nice if we could have more control over our posts, I get why WB has the rules they do.

I’ve never tried – so I don’t know if it would work – but do you think we could edit our post, and change the entire text to “deleted” or something along those lines?

You can ask for it to be removed. So, posts CAN be deleted.

@sorrycharlie:

You can’t anymore, you can only edit a post up to an hour afterward.

I do get why they took that right away especially in threads when things get very heated. Then posters come back and delete their post. Then the whole thread gets out of context.

@NYshoppingirl: If threads are deleted it screws with the other posters who commented on the threads post count. If individual posts are deleted then it often times makes the thread not make sense.

@NYshoppingirl: “And I say, who cares if things get out of whack if people police themselves and remove their nasty comments.”

I guess it comes down to trying not to make the nasty comments in the first place (trust me, I need to take my own advice). I get what you’re saying and I do think it would be nice to be able to have the control but you have to be accountable for what you post. I think everyone has atleast one post/thread that they regret but the rules are in place for a reason. Once you post something on the internet, it’s there to stay.
