I totally hear you! My Fiance and I were together for over 9 years and living together for 5 when he finally popped the question. You know what I found helped was acting like getting married wasn’t a big deal to us. Someone would say “Aren’t you going to get married yet?” and I’d answer “Meh, it’s not really that important . We are together and happy, and that’s all that matters.”  Most people had nothing much to say about that and shut up!

Yikes. This is me too. I am starting to dread holidays and family get togethers because people always ask or nag me… as though I forgot we’ve been dating 6 years and are still unengaged. Thanks for the reminder lol.

I love all these suggestions about what to say… I’d love to hear more from anyone who’s found a good one that stops nosy relatives in their tracks 😉

Haha, I think they need it more than I do.

Yes!!!  My family is good and never says anything about it.  However, my brother-in-law’s mom and sister are terrible!  They bugged me about it last time they were visiting.  They just flat out asked us when we were getting married which made both my SO and me uncomfortable.

I totally agree. It gets annoying to have people ask all the time.

SIGN MY MOM UP FOR IT! I would loooove for my mom to shut it up and not remind me every passing day how he hasn’t proposed yet… :/
