Yeah, heck, you’re not even supposed to mention gifts in your invitations. I recently got invited to a wedding and, in big, bold print, they told where they were registered and where you could send the gift if you weren’t coming/didn’t want to bring it. No “gifts aren’t necessary”. I almost didn’t get them something just because it was assumed I would. I just think gifts should be mentioned via word of mouth.

I repeat, HannahGrace, OP isn’t asking for anything. She has already told her guests, whom she knows, that she’d prefer “NOTHING” (my caps). 

If you are reading her post through 41 year old eyes, we simply disagree. And that’s perfectly OK!
