@DancingDiva:  This Black Friday shit is starting to really piss me off. The day after we’re supposed to be thankful is when we buy cheaper 60 inch TVs? UGH. So sick of hearing how they mistreat their workers!!!

I heard the same thing for Target as well. 8pm just means that nuts will be lining up at 2 or 3 and skipping Thanksgiving to shop. Blah!

It’s really sad. 8pm and 9pm is just crazy. Their employees have no time for a Thanksgiving dinner with those hours. The corporations just see money – not people.

My SO is in management at Target. He’s leaving Thanksgiving night at around 6:00 PM, to set up for the set up, and opening at 9:00.

I’m pissed. Like it makes me so mad. We’ve had to reschedule our dinner to be for closer to lunch time, and I’m mad. This whole thing just pisses me off. I had to reschedule everything and only get a few hours with my SO (who also works 14 hours the day before to make sure everything is ready to go), because people can’t wait 5 hours for cheap TVs.

I comment this on every single Black Friday post, but im just so freaking mad at Target right now hah

Yeah. My Fiance is in Sears management. Same thing, but they open at 8pm.

You know, if no one went, they’d stop doing this….

Yeah, my store thinks they’re super noble or something for opening at midnight instead of 8PM. Well, I still have to be there @10PM to pass out tickets (then work till 6AM, then come back at 5PM and work till 11PM), and stay till midnight the day before Thanksgiving to setup for Black Friday. Somewhere in there it would be nice to sneak in sleep and a meal with my family too…

Ugh what jerks! I’ve worked retail, done black friday, can’t even imagine if I had to be in on THANKSGIVING and deal with customers. (I actually was at work on turkey day but only for an hour or two in the morning to care for the animals, I didn’t have to travel at all, and the store was closed… VERY different.)

@indibee:  I heard that Walmart employees are going on strike that day.

(the reporters look very uncomfortable on this one)

@EffieTrinket:  You can bet a million bucks on intrade that Honeybee1999 will not be there.

You know once this catches on, Fast Food restaurants will decide to do it, so they can make money off people, too.
