I went in to check on my dress, and a MOB dress for my mom, and she goes “Did you put on weight?” Then she goes. “You got BIG! Maybe it’s my imagination?”
She’s one of those people who can be very blunt. But holy shit a month before the wedding?
I DID actually gain weight from stress eating and I’m SUPER short, so I’m trying to do some damage control.
Bitch.
Too bad everything is paid for.

Honesty is not always the best policy, lol. I’m sorry, yeah she could’ve been a lot more tactful. But yay, you’re getting married in 1 month, woo hoo!!!!

Well. You can lose 5 lbs, but she’ll always be a jerk.

That’s kinda rude 🙁
A bride already has a zillion things to worry about – weight right before the wedding should not be one of them.

Wow. I would’ve decked her.
I’m a little nervous about mine fitting… I won’t have it in my posession until the day before the wedding since it’s at my parent’s house…… hope to hell it zips up!
And even though i know I’ve probably gained 5 pounds since then… I’d still be pissed and deck her 😉

Not to generalize or anything, but she’s carribean, I have carribean family who just come out and say things like “Girl, ya look BIG” or “Girl, you skin and bone!” BUT she is NOT FAMILY (not saying that THAT is even ok). She doesn’t know me personally. I’m just like…WOW. Really? You have my money so now you can say whatever?
I’m really not great with comebacks. My mom and I were in shock and my mom said “Well… she is curvy she looks good, that’s her shape.” I am naturally curvy, but yeah, I did gain weight.
And this is in front of customers.

@LadyLuna711: she should not be working in a bridal salon – how can some people be so inconsiderate? im all for being blunt, but some things just should not be mentioned. Don’t let her get you down – you will look amazing on your wedding day 🙂

@LadyLuna711: I understand. DH’s culture is the same way. DH’s Dad actually told me that I looked “fat” in my wedding dress and then grabbed my arm and jiggled it. This was right before reception introductions. My father almost killed him (literally my mom had to take him for a walk to cool down) However, she’s a professional and you’re her client. So unprofessional.
