It was wolfpackforever that wanted to marry herself.  And she was also the one posting “Marry Me?” ads to craigslist, and created the single girls waiting list.  She also no longer believes in sex before marriage and admitted to being horny and wanted to get married so she could have sex again.  She appears to no longer be a member of the bee.

I think it’s interesting that in both cases, the women not only have a divorce of their own, but they also lost custody of their children. In the Bee’s case, I believe she said she signed away her parental rights. In the story linked, it indicates that her children did not want to live with her. I suspect there’s something motivating this that is very much about clinging on to something that they “know” cannot leave.

I’m just shocked that people came and supported her, much less gave her gifts. When it got to the point where she talks to herself and makes recommendations to herself that she won’t actually try, that’s when it really starts setting off alarm bells. It made me wonder if people showed up partly to see what on earth she is doing to herself when she may be in need of some help.

Good for her. She realized that there is nobody more awesome then herself.

Marry yourself if you want to, but please don’t expect me to show up in my Sunday best and give you a gift. If you need someone to pay attention to you hire a therapist.

I think people are reading too much into this. I DON’T THINK SHE IS CRAZY at all! I personally would not do this, but I think its more of STATEMENT for her then anything else, it’s her way of healing and feeling good about herself, and she had 40 friends to support her! That’s wonderful. I know people will blast me for thinking it’s not so bad, but honestly she is not doing any one any harm an if it helps her move on and feel good, so be it. – Maybe calling it a ‘wedding’ is pushing it, but the statement itself, not for me, but for others, ahhhhh go for it.

red dino She was posting still as of yesterday and planning her wedding.

rdownie1 Not blasting you, but it was really the stuff described in the article that bothered me more than the ceremony. Having conversations with herself? Referring to herself as wife? It’s a lifestyle she’s developed.

Meh, to each their own. I think it’s a little odd but she’s not hurting anyone, and if her friends want to purchase her gifts and help her celebrate, then good on her!

I believe it’s a fantastic accomplishment to find and/or accept yourself and be happy with who you are, but this is taking it to a whole ‘nother nuthouse level… IMO.

And I agree with

Sometimes alcoholics seem happy too, but are they healthy?

I think these are the type of people that medication and therapy were invented for.
