Oh wow, how small are we talking about? One or two inches (spanx maybe, I know she’s a jr bridesmaid but it might work) if its a lot, go back to the seamstress and tell her to fix it! Maybe there is a way! Or add a corset back?

I would go back and have her try it on there and see what the lady says

@peanut081981:  Oh wow, yeah spanx is definitely out! I’m so sorry 🙁 This has to also be bad for her self esteem, I mean she’s a preteen, and even if its not her fault at all we all remember how it was to be 12 and starting puberty (or maybe that was just me lol) this is so sad. Go back to the seamstress and see what she can do, there is nothing else right now to do except that. Do you have a picture of the dress to see what other recomendations we can give you?

Holy cow!  Did the woman not even do a fitting with the dress on the girl before she started cutting and sewing?

The only thing I can suggest if they can’t put in a ribbon/corset back (which would be the best option, really) is to buy a cute cardigan/pashmina/stole and get her to wear it over the top to hide it. I would also get her to wear a nice vest underneath and try sewing them together, if that makes sense so it is underneath the dress and not just skin. Sorry I’m not being very clear – basically like a modesty panel at the back but with a vest. Or maybe just a modesty panel, sewen in. Tell the Bridesmaid or Best Man that it’s not her fault, shes beautiful and sometimes people muck things up, she’ll understand 🙂 x
