I was watching “say yes to the dress” this evening. At the time a bride comes on wearing MY gown, Fiance walks in and says, “Well, that’s ugly”. I’ve got nothing else, Bees. Devastated. That, mixed with all the other stress of wedding planning and in law issues…. i just wish i didn’t have to DO this wedding. I wish we would have gotten married at some fantastic destination months ago. I’m in tears. Just wanted to rant about how absolutely sucky wedding planning can be.

Oh no! So sorry you had to hear that!
Maybe he just thought the dress didn’t look great on that particular girl? I’ve seen dresses look AMAZING on some women, and horrid on others.

@msmaddox: Holy cow! I don’t know what I would do. He loves you though, so I’m sure once you are in it he wouldn’t even know it was the same dress. You’ll be beautiful.
But I would freak out too. I would think of reasons why this other girl did not look good in the dress and see if you have the same issues. If not, you’re probably fine!

I can 100% guarantee his jaw will be on the floor when he sees you in your dress….
i would put money on the fact that he was commenting on how it looked on her… Not on the actual dress itself…. And when it comes to dresses… Your fiancé will have no memory of it being “ugly”…
p.s…. I saw my dress on someone once… I thought it was terrible and didn’t ever want to have anything like it….. Considering how I now own the same dress… I obviously changed my mind! 🙂

@jenilynevette: +1! Dresses look so different on different people.
Also, I promise you that past seeing it on tv, he has no recollection of what the dress looks like .I also promise that when you are walking down the aisle, he will not be scrutinizing the details of your dress! He will just be taking it all in and loving it.

@msmaddox: Awww I’m sorry! I doubt he meant it and I doubt it will look ugly on you.
SHOW US YOUR DRESS!

Oh no! I also think that’s going to happen when I watch the show. But I can promise you that he will love it. It probably just wasnt flattering on that bride. Don’t worry so much about it!! Trust me!!

I hate wedding planning too. It’s not fun. It’s stressful. I’m so afraid of my fiance liking my dress. I don’t even know if I like my dress, but I really couldn’t find one I liked very much. I guarantee you that your fiance will think that you’re beautiful & love your dress. And then you’ll have a funny thing to tell him.

Oh dear, I bet you almost choked!
DOes he often comment on bridal dresses or was this a once-off?

@msmaddox: that SUCKS! I know your FH will love your dress on you. My FH would say my dress looks like toilet paper – I know he will (and it kinda does look like one of those dresses on the commercials with the runway dresses made out of toilet paper) but I know he’s going to love it on me – or more correctly, he’ll love me in it.
Your FH will be the same, he’ll see you in the dress and forget he ever said it was ugly.

Aw don’t worry! You will look very different than another woman. I bet you look gorgeous too, when stock photos came out of my dress this week I had a mild melt down bc the model looked terrible.
Show us your dress!!

I’ve seen my dress before on someone else, hated it. On me, I love it.
Don’t let it bother you. Your fiance will think you look amazing the day of, believe me.

@msmaddox: Oh no! What dress is it?
Maybe it just looked really bad on her? Either way, I guarantee you, when you’re walking down the aisle, he is NOT going to be thinking “well thats an ugly dress.”

I agree. Women can look vastly different in the same dress. Plus you will have the whole wedding look together that will make it your own. I would look horrible in a mermaid style and other women look drop-dead gorgeous in it. I wouldn’t worry – you will look fab!
