I love this dress. I think it would suit my destination beach wedding perfectly – but the only thing is, it’s JJsHouse… and I’m not too sure if I feel comfortable with the whole online ordering, especially when I’ve seen a fair few negative comments. I personally know a couple of people that have ordered through them and their dresses have been perfect. I’m just quivering in my boots at the thought of a disaster, and wasted money.
Does anyone know of a similar dress, or know the design that JJs has replicated?

I only condone ordering online if you’ve tried on (and loved) a similar style in a boutique.
It’s SO hard to know if a certain dress will indeed flatter the way you think it will. I ended up with a dress completely opposite of what I thought I would buy. Just something to consider before online ordering…be sure you know what you’re getting into!!!

@JaneyDcat: Thanks, you’re absolutely right. The bridesmaid dress I’m wearing for a friends weddnig in a couple of weeks is actually quite similar to this one, also same material – so I know it should hang properly on me 🙂
I think I’m also leaning towards something online because of the price. I realise that the drop in price will also be a drop in quality, but we’re only having an intimate wedding, and being on the beach is so much more casual. So I don’t really mind getting what I paid for.
Just don’t know whether to take the plunge or not!

@littlemisssally:
Honestly, I think the reverse is true. When you go to a local boutique, you’re paying extra for their rent, their staff and all the extra tax and whatnot.
When you buy online, you get a better price without the merchant markup price! If you KNOW that this style will look good on you and you are quite certain about the size according to the size chart, then I say go for it!! ALSO…a little known secret is that many of these boutiques deliberately order you the wrong size so you are forced to pay exorbitant fees for alterations!! You may still opt to get your dress altered, but you won’t have any pressure to get your dress altered through the local merchant…you can now shop around for the most reliable and fairly priced tailor.
I wish I had bought my gown online….but I got married nearly 6 years ago…things sure have changed now!!!
