@mishagirls79:  I did the first look before the ceremony and I still got nervous. I was so nervous I did not look at my Darling Husband the entire ceremony.

We did the ‘first look’ and photos before the ceremony to save time.  I don’t think it really eases nerves though.  I was shocked to still see my husband standing up there having to fight back tears.  The ‘moment’ that you’re walking down toward him to become his wife, is still special and full of emotion.  Knowing what you look like doesnt change that.

@mishagirls79:  I suggest if you get nervous not to do what I did. I looked at into the crowd and looked like I had ADD badly. If you get nervous focus on his tie or neck. I am sure you will do great. I just never thought I would be nervous because I am not an emotional kind of girl!!!

My SO and I were talking about this (he’s in the process of buying the ring……sooooo engagement’s coming soon!!!) and he is set on NOT doing the first look. I was sooo disappointed when he told me he absolutely did not want to see me until I was walking down the aisle, but I do understand why he wouldn’t want to as well. I am hoping I can convince him that the first look will be just as special and that he’ll probably still be excited and whatnot when he sees me walking towards him.

Weddings feel like too much attention for my taste and I don’t like the showy aspect of it. Fiance and I are getting ready together at our house, and driving together to the ceremony/reception site.

Fiance and I have been talking about this recently. At first, I was adamantly opposed to a first look. Now, I’m thinking I’ll be a ball of nerves and that seeing him would calm me somewhat, because he’s like my security blanket & always puts me at ease. We may end up doing one, and calming my nerves would be the main reason. I think it would make me less likely to be distracted and a wreck during the ceremony. Hopefully, if we do a first look, I’ll be able to really take everything in and be calm enough to remember the little details during the ceremony. Hopefully. 😉

we are going to be very untradional. we are sleeping together the night before just as we do everynight ( we both agree that we wont sleep if we are not togethr), eat a relaxing breakfast together, then go our seperate ways to get ready. but we will do pre wedding ceromony pictures, including first look, to save time afterwards.

We did a first look, and I’m so happy we did- no regrets at all.

When we first saw each other, it was totally private- no other members of the wedding party or family- our photographer was the only witness. I loved the fact that we had time to talk to/admire each other, versus first time at the altar.

It also helped calm my nerves…I still got butterflies right before walking down the aisle, and I still teared up a little during the ceremony, but it helped keep me from being a big mess- I think I enjoyed the whole ceremony better than I would have otherwise.

And… most of my favorite photos of the two of us are from the first look, and I don’t feel that they are any less “wedding” photos.
