I see it, too. It looks like the actual stone is cut unevenly. I don’t know much about the cut and visually I am bad at these things, but it looks like the right half of the stone is thicker/wider and curves out more than the left side, but then tapers a bit narrower toward the bottom right corner so that it looks like the stone is crooked?

I’m not great at this either but what stood out to me is in the second photo the top right prong is uneven ? Not sure about the cut but that’s what I noticed first if that helps any

mjay :  Looks like to me the right prongs are not set in the same orientation as the left making the stone seem to look off with the cut. The issue seems to be with the setting and setting of the stone. Maybe get an opinion of another jeweler and send it to Tianyu. Hopefully they will make it right. On the upside the color of your stone with the rose gold is gorgeous!

mjay :  I think it’s everything, the stone does not look totally centered between the claws, and the claws do not look straight to each other and it looks like there is a slight curve to one side of the shank as well. I’m going to say a new and not so skilled technician worked on your ring.

Looks like the prongs are skewey. I can’t tell with the lighting really. I sometimes think mine look slightly crooked but I see lots that look crooked I think my eye is just looking for insane symmetry. Lol

You can also measure prong to prong. W idth,  length and diag.

I once took my old e ring it to a chain  jeweller for a plating and resize, it came back with the main stones, upheaved and not level. I had to take it all the way to head office before they jobbed it out and put it back. In doing so they slightly changed my prongs. Now I’m paranoid about any work! Worst part is my friend worked there, she felt horribly.

I see it now. The stone’s table is very crooked. A metalsmith can’t fix that. A stone cutter can. Did you send Tianyu these new pictures? It’s very obvious with the grid. Great idea.

It’s definitely off, the stone looks twisted in the setting or it might not have been cut properly – it’s hard to tell. Have you tried measuring it? I think it’s very noticable to the naked eye and I don’t know how they could be arguing this at all.

Oh no! So sorry about your ring bee. I remember you also had a problem with them suddenly not having the stone color you want and you had to wait longer, now this. It definitely is crooked and I can also see some issues with your band’s width? As if they’re not even. I don’t know how this ring could have passed their quality check before shipping. Looks really off to me. Could be that they saw the issue but they thought you’ve waited long enough and was hoping you wouldn’t notice it. Ugh! To think I was actually considering buying another ring from them. Hope they cooperate with having it fixed!
