What a shame! Your ring would be perfect if they just made it right. Can you get it fixed by the jeweler who did the inspection? I know you probably don’t want to spend the extra money but it might be worth it?

Are you serious?! That’s awful! So Tianyu won’t reimburse you on a return?? 

At least the stone is ok. Yes maybe the jeweler can fix the prongs so you can wear it. It’s so pretty. It would be a shame to go to waste.

File a dispute with the credit card company you used when you paid.. If you used a card. If it’s your banks debit card, you can still file a dispute when it has the VISA, MasterCard  or American Express logos on it! The bank will probably get you all your money back.

I’m so sorry bee. That is so unfair. But I agree that maybe you should just cut your losses and have it fixed. It’s such a shame that such a pretty ring would go to waste just because of Tianyu’s shady business practice. I hope they are aware that people on this forum are aware of what they did and that we are utterly disgusted with the way they have treated you!

Just wanted to offer another perspective. I imagine you are probably so furious right now and hating your ring. Something I had to remember is that when we’re on these boards, we are looking SO CLOSELY at all the details of this tiny jewelry. If you take a step back, put it away for a few days, occupy your mind with something else, you might come back to it and decide to just love it.

To be clear, I don’t think you’re overreacting. I definitely see the issue in your pictures. I’d be so pissed. I’m just hoping to give you another perspective in case you can’t have it fixed or refunded.

I had a jeweler botch a necklace job. I had a tiny silver chain and I had them set a cheap CZ into it. It only cost $40 for the CZ and setting fee. But when I got it back, the prongs were off. I went back and said look, it’s obvious, you don’t even need a loupe you can see it clearly. They said they couldn’t see anything wrong with it. They decided to refund me and not fix it, so I walked out with my money back and a messed up necklace. At first I thought I definitely need to get it fixed, but in the meantime I guess I’ll wear it like this. Guess what? I can barely tell now. Yes if I look closely I can see it, but no one is looking that closely! 

So keep fighting, see if you can get your bank to get your money back, but in the end if there are no other options, try putting it away for a few days and then wearing it as-is before you pay more to get it fixed. You might decide it’s not that bad. It’s a beautiful ring and again, although I can definitely see the issue, it’s not horrible and I’m sure it’s 1000% less noticeable when you’re wearing it and looking at it from a foot away or more.

Thanks for keeping the posts! I love the fact that bees here share info. I think for quality customer service they should just learn to address issues with future customers in mind. Happy customers = more business.

And you’re not the only one who’s experienced poor customer service but it is so far the worst I’ve read. I’m so irritated for you!

mjay :  That’s is shady. I think that’s so wrong, basically paying people off to not leave any kind of negative review online. So they make themselves appear to be an amazing business, when really there’s issues with their rings and they pay people to be quiet. Not right! I would really dispute it with your bank.
