Does anyone know where I can find used/vintage looking wooden boxes to use as centerpieces online? I live in DC and am carless so it’s difficult to get to any of the craft stores in the suburbs, so I’m trying to do as much shopping online as possible. Thanks in advance!

Ebay has great vintage resources I did a search and found many vintage wooden boxes that would be perfect for a centerpiece.

Crate & Barrel has great, long, thin boxes with a cool patina on them for $50 each. They aren’t wooden, but they’ve got a vintage look to them.
Otherwise, I second the ebay recommendation. It might also be good to keep an eye on places like Craigslist for estate sales. They might be a good place to look. I’ll keep an eye out for other places, because I know I’ve seen them!

if you’re not set on something vintage looking (though these are probably stainable)…ikea has some simple wooden boxes in different sizes…

Would you consider going the DIY route? You could probably get your hands on some used/worn wood — apple crates, etc. — and make up some cute boxes, if you’re handy like that!

Thanks for the great ideas. My original thought had been used wine crates and I’ve found a bunch on ebay but they’re a bit spendy once you add the cost of shipping on top. The ikea ones are a great alternative — my florist showed me something like that but I hadn’t been able to find them online. I may have to suck it up and rent a car for the weekend to make the trip to Ikea.
Unfortunately, can’t go the DYI route — no room for table saws and the like in my small city apartment. I am considering asking my brother to make them for me. He’s actually a woodworker by trade, but he’s also not the most reliable person on earth because he likes to pick up and travel around the world at the drop of a hat.

Answering my own post…isn’t it always the way that you stumble upon something randomly after days and weeks of searching? Here are a couple more options for anyone else who is looking.
