I got our initials cut out to use for the front doors of the church.

I got them here.

They turned out great, and I think I only paid 25 bucks for both. I got them unpainted, and this site is also great because you can choose the thickness, size and font for your letters.

I had a great experience!

I used and etsy seller called poshdots and they were perfect.  I got her to make raw wood letters for me and docoupaged origami paper on them.  They’re resonably priced and come in lots of fonts and sizes.

I got mine at my local flea market! $1.50 a peice…SCORE!  I guess they are probably 5 or 6 inches tall.

I was going to do this, but I am probably going to have over 30 tables, so it would have added up fast if I didn’t find a cheap site. Thanks for all the sites, I’ll have to check them out!

@Mrs.tobe: What size did you get for the front doors? We want to get letters for the front gate of our reception, but Im clueless as to what size and thickness I should get!

@icelara: I think I got  the letters 16 inches tall and 1/4 in thick…

I don’t have them with me at the moment, but I’m pretty sure that’s what I did. I will say this, I got a smaller thickness because I didn’t want them to be heavy on the church doors and possibly do any damage when people open them (Catholic churches are VERY picky…lol) So if they are going to be hanging on your gate you might want something heavier, and a bit thicker.

But they did a great job! I would suggest that you grab a tape measure and see how tall you would think you’d like them in comparison to the gate and go from there!

Good luck!
