What do you guys think of this? Particularly, in a reception hall? I’m doing a garden theme, and am incorporating purples and (brights, fuschias, strawberry pink) and green.
This is my idea:
Wooden table runner, like shown, with 3 different length submerged centerpieces like this:
with the loose flowers and scattered tealights/votives in a lengthy way (not all in one spot like this picture)
My bridesmaid said she loves it, and even though i’m having the reception in a marble floored traditional reception hall, if i’m consistent with my theme I can pull it off.
I’m asking because when you think wooden, garden..it’s more of an outside wedding. But I love the idea! I actually drew out how I’d want it set up, I’ll have to upload that later when I get home.
How much would something like this cost? If you’re only submerging a strand or two of orchids, and maybe one or two calla lilies (I know their expensive) is it that bad?

I just realized it’s not actual wood for the table runner..ha…but what if I did a block of wood?

I think it will look great! The board runner will help to give it that outdoor feel.
A long length of barnboard will be perfect.
Submerged centerpieces are usually fairly cost effective as you need fewer flowers.
You can get the vases and votive holders from Dollar Tree or craigslist and save money there.

Oh great to know about barnboard! I’ll have to look that up!

My centerpieces were $55 a piece. I rented the vase from the florist and she strung orchids on thin wire (she said she used 2 orchid stems, but I think it was only one). The $55 also included the candle, white beads at the bottom and the light base (I think it was $9 for the light).
We talked about using other flowers and calla lillies I think they were $5-7 per stem for the smaller ones. The orchids were $5 per stem which was just a tad cheaper.

Oh my god!!! This is exactly how I want mine to look…although we will buy our own LED lights and most likely the vases and candles too..
I love love love this! Thank you for your picture! and the pricing too…if we can’t find everything we want then $55 is definitely in our budget anyway!

@BellaDee: Glad I could help! I was really happy how they turned out. The orchids were supposed to be light or pink but the florist could only get purple. The LED light was actually a base that the vase sat on instead of a light inside the vase.
