    For some reason when people use the word union about romantic relationships, I alawys think of it in a sexual way. So I picked the latter. But other people probably aren’t as weird-dirty-minded as I am.

    I personally like option 1. I do think that they emphasize slightly different things. The “celebration of their union” option emphasizes the full day of joyful partying, which is all about you and your love. The “exchange wedding vows” choice suggests that the importance of the day is the ceremony/the moment when you pledge yourselves to each other.

    I don’t think you can go wrong either way–just depends on what you want to highlight!
