Just over three weeks ago my husband and I attended his cousin’s wedding. We are new parents and traveled out of town, and of course I forgot to buy a card for them before hand! I feel awful, and have a card and cash gift ready to send. I want to acknowledge that I know it’s late, make some sort of joke about the forgetfulness of new parents and congratulate them.
How would you word it?

@mrstilly: Technically you have up to 1 year after the wedding to send a gift.
I’d just write a nice note about how much you enjoyed the wedding and seeing them (maybe your favorite moment from the night) and state that you wanted to give them a gift for them to put towards something fun in their newlywed life.

Any other suggestions on wording? I’m just really bad at things like this. My thank you cards were a nightmare.

Thank you for allowing us to share in your special day. We enjoyed ____ and _____ about your wedding. We hope that you are settling in to newlywed life and enjoying the feeling of not having to “save for the wedding” anymore! I hope we are able to chat soon about your honeymoon (if applicable).
