- Wedding: August 2012
So here is the deal. My fiance and I are getting married in Hawaii in August– that is where my fiance is from. We are having a pretty small wedding there and we can’t invite too many people. Here is a pic of our invite for the wedding and reception in Hawaii! It is sooo awesome!! (see comment below)
Then, we are having a big reception in September in Seattle at my dad and step-mom’s house for everyone else, including those who couldn’t make it to Hawaii (mostly my side).
My dad and step-mom want to include somewhere in the invite that we are to be wed in Hawaii, and now we are having a big party in Seattle. They also want us to include their names. I don’t want to include the word “daughter” in the wording because I don’t want my mom to feel left out! So I was thinking of wording like “NAME and NAME LASTNAME invite you to celebrate the marriage of Angie and Andrew”. Thoughts?
How do you think I should word this? The party is really casual– we are having a Hawaiian food truck come to my parent’s house. So even though we are including the parent names I want the invite to have a casual feel.
Here is what I came up with–
Angie and Andrew are getting married in August on Oahu!
NAME and NAME LASTNAME invite you to a mainland celebration!
September 1, 2012 3pm
Step-mom and Dad NAMES, LAST NAME’s home
A Hawaiian food truck will await your arrival!
Suggestions? Too much info to say we are getting married in Hawaii? Should I take that out? Change the order? Bahh I thought this would be easy but it isn’t.
