So, we are having a destination wedding, and the day after the wedding, we want to go on a SCUBA/Snorkeling/Bubble watching boat ride. We don’t expect all of the guests to go on the “post wedding” boat ride, but the ones we have talked to think it sounds like a fun idea.
As of now, we can’t afford to pay for this boat trip, so my original plan was just to tell everyone that if they wanted to go, they could call XXX place at XXX number to reserve a spot on the boat, and it would cost them $XX. However, after doing some digging, it will be a LOT cheaper to just charter the entire boat (like – cutting costs in half). But that would mean that we would have to pay for the boat up front in one lump sum. I am not worried about filling up the boat – we are inviting 140 people, expecting 70-80 to show up, and the boat only holds 49 people. I am also not worried about paying for the boat in advance, but we would need the money back by the wedding (so we can use it on our honeymoon).
Does anyone have any good ideas for wording to say something like “Mr. Rocks and Rock Hugger are going to charter a boat. If you are interested in going, it will be $25pp, and you should send/give that money to the Rock Huggers.” I know there has got to be a more delicate way to put that!
Thanks to the bees that have more class that me!
