Here is my work dilemma. First a smidge of background info. I’ve been at this company for almost 5 years, started out way at the bottom of the food chain. Well worked myself up and have been given some big responsbilities over the years. Now pretty much when something new comes up that nobody else wants to or can do they give it to me. I get stuck with anything that is remotly computer related because everyone knows I am extremelly knowledgable about computers and I will actually have my Bachelor’s degree in It in May.
But anyway, 4 weeks ago I kind of asked for a raise in a very nonchalant kind of way. I simply asked my boss if they were planning on doing year end reviews for everyone. Now mind you I have never gotten a raise. The first year I was there they did year end evals and everyone got a raise, except me since I hadn’t been there for quite a year yet. (They did them in Jan, my year was in March) He told me he would make sure that happens. End of subject, I figured I was being brushed off.
So then two weeks ago he tells me that he is working on my “comp package”. I have not heard anything since.
So should I say something like, “Just wondering what you came up with for my comp package?” or “Did you have a chance to look at my comp package?”
IDK! He even said he knows that I have taken on a lot of work, which that is good. But honestly, I am sick of hearing them all tell us how they “appriciate” everything we all do for them. (family owned buisness). They just hired a new girl in my dept who somehow managed to get her health benefits from day 1, so yeah that’s what got me all upset in the first place. Oh and she got vacation from day 1 also.
