Someone I have had to work with the past two days is incredibly lazy she has been pawning all her work off on me. She takes long breaks and when ever she gets asked a question she directs it to me. I am just tired of it I want to say something but I don’t have the balls. What do you bees do when you have to work with these types of co workers?

I tell them no. If it contintues, I send a nasty email to HR complaining about them. I know that sounds petty, but I really can’t stand most of the people I work with. Plus, I’m the only one in my office that can do my job and they refuse to hire or let me teach someone else how to do my job so I have back up and can take more than one day at a time off work.
I don’t get paid enough to do my job and someone else’s too. Lol, I’m not bitter much 🙂

When she tries to put more on you, tell her sorry but you can’t take it on right now and just turn away. Ive seen her type before, she will continue to do this as long as she thinks she can get away with it. You have the power to end that.
When she redirects a question, keep professional (you don’t want to ruin your reputation) but turn it around on her. Answer the question then ask her, “is there anything you would add? This does 2 things- it allows you to take credit for responding to the question and puts the attention of her lack of answer back on her.

I have a coworker from hell!!! There is only 4 people in our specialized finance dept. The big guy, a supervisor, him and I. He is the laziest, most careless, manchild I have ever met! He was ok until he started slacking off. He is suppossed to be tracking and managing funds worth millions of dollars, but his work is consistently inaccurate, when it gets done, which hasn’t been on time in months. The big guy put him on probation twice, and kept letting him go because he felt sorry for him. Instead of him realizing he should clean up his act and get his work done, he decided to put a harrassement suite against the big boss. His reasoning: one day when he was bitching my boss called him a woman, and told him to man up, the female supervisor and I have consistantly been promoted (earned by performance) and he has not, and my favorite he stood too close to him and it made him feel uncomfortable. This made everything really uncomfortable for a while and the company decided to do some rearranging. I became the manchilds interim manager. He had no respect for me since I’m almost 10 yrs younger, and had no real authority as an interim manager. He decided to get 0 work done! When the day came to review a months worth of work, he left and didn’t come back for 3 months! He took leave, I have no clue why. I had to take over all of his work. Correct all his mistakes, and completely reformatted his processes to make it more efficient. My reward for all of this. Having to retrain him upon his return. He has only been back a few weeks and is already slacking off again. Last week he called out sick twice and today he left early for no reason. It can’t last much longer before he is fired. It is just one of those unfortunate situations that I have to wait out. The worst part is that I’m supposed to be promted into a different dept, but can’t until all of this mess is resolved.

I haven’t experienced this, but my mom has. She’s a CNA, so her job is really difficult. She finishes all her work early, but has to work late to make up for the others who don’t work. They take long smoke and bathroom breaks during busy times, and she once found some people hiding in a closet!!
She usually tells them off, and they’re good for a few days, then back at it again. She’s had so many different co-workers over the past 15 years, because they keep getting fired.
