I’m pretty sure that tungsten is breakable. Try stainless steel.

You could easily get titanium, tungsten, or stainless steel with that budget. Check amazon- I had a stainless steel band when I was trying to decide what width I wanted in a ring, i really I liked it. I’m pretty sure it was $10 or less.

I heard that tungsten can shatter, but I’m not sure if that’s true. Steel is known as a super-functional metal. I assume it would work very well.

@asscherlover:  I wore them at my job at a courier company years ago and I had more things on my hands then I want to know. I am not sure what type of chemicals you have to use but for 10 bucks it is worth a try with the stainless

Can you just wear gloves? I’d try the stainless steel if not.

I have a tungsten band that is 18k yellow gold plated that I ordered off of Ebay for $5. It’s comfortable and easily replaceable. Good luck!

Titanium is highly resistant to corrosion – more so than those other metals. I think it’s your best bet. It won’t break easy but it will scratch, though it gets a nice patina with wear so the scratches stop looking too bad.

Stainless steel or titanium sound like the way to go.

surgical steel should be just fine for some exposure to household chemicals.

I have this 2mm ring and I love it so much, I bought a second one just in case I lost the first! it’s good quality (thick enough that it will not bend), and was only $7!  bonus: it’s super comfortable. they even have half sizes!!

if you go with a different ring, and you can’t get it in a 4.5, I think it would probably be fine to just get a 5. there is not that much of a difference between half sizes.
