I was originally scheduled to have to day off this Saturday. Last week my manager let me know that everyone in my department is required to work that day (I work in sales and it’s the day before fathers day, so we will be swamped). She asked if I would go onto our scheduling system and pick up the available shift 4:30-1045 but that she would go in and edit the hours to 2-815 because those were the hours she’d scheduled our lunches, breaks, and selling goals around. Well, she hasn’t changed the hours yet. I work tonight but she does not. This isn’t really the kind of question i can take to the manager on duty since scheduling is done by each manager independently. So my question is, should i come in at my scheduled time at 430 or do I come in at 2? I’m so confused!

Can you call her in the morning to ask? If you can’t, I’d go in at 2 and take a book, just in case!

Can you call or text her?

I don’t have a personal phone number for her. As for calling her in the morning, she very rarely comes in to work before 2-3 pm.

I’d 100% come in at 2pm. That is when you manager said she wants you there – whether the system shows it yet or not.

@Mrs.KMM: Yeah, that’s what I’m going to do I guess. and then I’ll just extra cross my fingers that she’s there. Because our system won’t allow you to clock in before your scheduled time without manager override and I doubt another manager would override it. Ugh so frustrating.
