So I’m curious. Do you work to live or live to work? No judgement! A lady I know who go hired at the company I work at (I’m a long term temp with a project end date) said this. Unfortunately working there almost 2 years, I know they’ll fire her in a heart beat for that attitude if they come up with a half way decent reason (which in a right to work state isn’t much).

I don’t currently work and don’t want to. I had a very high stress job straight out of college and was simultaneously starting and running my own business (which I’ve since closed). It was a “live to work” situation, though not by choice. I would never want to do that again. It is soul-sucking.
I don’t miss it and much prefer to be a lady of leisure (or a housewife, as some might call it!). However, once my visa situation here in Oz gets sorted out, I will probably look for some sort of work just to help pay down some of our debt. I only plan to work for a year at most, though. Once we start a family, I will be a Stay-At-Home Mom.

I live to work and work to live. I’m a work-a-holic and I’m bread winner in our relationship so I have to work. I enjoy the field/career I am in. If I were to win the lottery, I would still work.

I work to live. I’m trying to save as much money as possible so I can be a Stay-At-Home Mom one day if I want to.

I love my job and am really, really lucky to have it. That being said, it can and will suck the life out of me some days and is extremely demanding of my time. I work a lot of weekends and holidays. The goal is to be a Stay-At-Home Mom someday, maybe a freelance writer or something on the side. 🙂

I work to live currently – but if I could find the right job, I think I would want to keep working regardless of finances.
@redheadem: Same here. I’m hoping to have enough put away by the time we TTC so I at least have the choice available.

I love my job but any job to me, no matter how cool, would still be a means to an end. To me a job/career pays for our bills and leisure pursuits especially travelling!

I work to live, but I also find what I do fulfilling because it’s perfect for my skillset and I make enough money to make it rewarding. FH would like me to quit after baby #2 because child are costs are so high, but I honestly can’t imagine not working and contributing to the household.

I live to work – love my job and get great fulfillment from it!

I live to work. My job is very fulfilling and gives me a sense of accomplishment!

I work to live. If I had enough money to afford to live off the interest from investments, I’d never “work” another day in my life.

I love my job, but if I could not work, I wouldn’t!

Somewhere in between. I like my job, but if I could just volunteer for a living I would.

I work to live. I like my job well enough, but anything that I’m passionate about wouldn’t pay the bills. I’m not willing to take a cut in pay or give up our lifestyle, so I will keep doing work that I “like” and moving my way up!
