Our wedding was on a friday and I took the day before it off – there was so much still to sort out that I really could have done with taking Wednesday off too, but I ran out of leave…
If I could do it all over again, I would have taken 2 days off beforehand; got everything ready on the Wednesday and then used Thursday to rest and relax!

I was married on the Saturday, and took off from the Tuesday onward from work which really helped. I had everything done by the Friday so I was able to relax that day and catch up with family and friends. I definitely recommend taking some time off before hand just to run around and do errands and any last minute things that might come up.

I will have 2 weeks off before our wedding. I chose the date to take advantage of being a teacher and getting 6 weeks off in the summer. A friend got married during term time and she was so very stressed.

Fiance and I are getting married on a Saturday, and we both took Thursday and Friday off from work, and may even stretch it to Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday. It sort of depends what kind of errands we need to run before. Also, my parents are hosting the RD/welcome party at their house the Friday night before, and I am sure we will have to go over and help them set up on Friday.

Planning on taking a week before and after! I don’t know if my FH will be able to take a week off before AND after AND have a week left for our destination honeymoon (8 months later), because I’ve been with my company longer and get more paid time off. But I’ve got three weeks per year and my vacation will reset between the wedding and the destination honeymoon. Seems like a good time to use it!
