- Wedding: October 2010
I have really learned alot through my whole experience helping brides, being a bride to be, and now as a bride. I sorted through so many pieces of wedding “literature”, magazines, floral calenders, etiquette books etc and found myself pulling a little bit from everything but having to sort through irrelevant details to find what I needed. In the months after I was engaged, literally 14 other friends of ours also got engaged (and counting). I LOVED being able to help, recommend to, and bounce ideas of them.
I planned every detail of my own wedding, and the final budget only came to about $5,000, and people continue to tell me it was their favorite wedding yet! Knowing the stress it took to pull that off and refining my technique as I went, I developed a passion for wanting to find a way to pull it all off without the fun being sucked right out. With that said, I’m now working on a small blog of my own to be a resource (sort of like a virtual note-jot) for my friends and family who may be intially overwhelmed by details and possibilities.
I would love some suggestions from some other bees about any of the following:
What is something you wish you had known from the beginning?
If you could recommend one helpful resource you’ve found to another “bride to be”, what would it be?
What are some topics you’d like to see mentioned on a blog?
Is there anything you wished you’d done differently or spent more time/money on?
Places, sites, or stores you had great experiences or got great ideas/purchases from?
If you have any other thoughts, comments, suggestions, or ideas, please feel free to include them. Or, if you have a blog I could send people to as a reference, I’d love that too!!! Thanks ladies!!!!
