Stepping on the scale and seeing that I gained 10 pounds since I got married certainly got me motivated!

This graphic pretty much sums it up for me.

Last year in January 2012, Jilian Michael’s had a show… I forgot what it was called now, but the point of it was “No more excuses.” It took a YEAR to sink in. And I woke up on Jan 1 2013 and decided I was going to be a runner. I have worked out 21 of 25 days in 2013 so far. I dk, I just decided it was time for me.

Oh and I watch youtube videos of fitness models or fitness motivations (female bodybuilders,  not the gross ones, the feminine ones) while I am working out and it is very motivating. I want to look like that, be strong like that, be flexible like that, run like that!

Another thing, if you are working out at home. Make your workout space a place you want to be in. Lots of people put their exercise equipment in a cold, dark, dingy basement. Would you ever go there and hang out? No. So why would you want to workout there. Lots of great tips here!

I would say to have a work-out buddy, someone who can hold you accountable. When you have someone either depending on your for a ride or a workout, then you’re more inclined to work out. Also, you can sign up for a race a few months in advance and train for it! It’s something to  look forward to! Hope this helps! 🙂

Workout buddies are the BEST! I’m so used to having someone to go to classes with that if they don’t go I’m WAY more likely to weasle out.

I work out both on my own and also by going to classes (these are 3X a week – 2X Krav Maga, 1 spin class). Going to classes means I don’t want to not go because I’ve already paid and I’m CHEAP! 🙂

I joined the gym at my work but it still didn’t motivate me to go. What did help is that they offer a class twice a year that is 10 weeks long and I have to pay extra for (its not included with the membership). I joined and made myself go because I didn’t want to waste $60. I only missed days when I was sick or my kids were sick etc. After finishing my first 10 weeks I felt motivated to continue going and tried new classes. I do better in groups that motivate me. Now that our wedding dakeeps getting closer and my best friends wedding keeps getting closer I’m motivated to look as good as I possibly can.

I feel you and have zip physical energy once I am done with work, although eating pizza isn’t helping.

When I was working out regularly before I left work to go to gym, I would eat a little something for energy, drink a glass of water and check pinterest for some motivational pictures/quotes then go.

I asked a friend who is super buff how she finds the motivation and she said she doesn’t like to go, but once she is there she’s like “If I do 20 more minutes I can burn 200 more calories,” or “10 more reps is nothing, I am already here anyway.”

Also I look for realistic body images online and make it my background so I am always reminded of what I can be instead of some photoshopped image of a Victoria Secret model (just not my build)

I will go to the gym on Sunday!
