Hey all you fit bees,
I’ve been holding myself to my new year’s resolution of getting to the gym/working out 4 times a week…but am starting to find myself too tired to go. Today, I just am DRAGGING my feet. Don’t worry, I’m still putting a fire under my butt to get to the gym, but I was wondering…
How do YOU get yourself to the gym when you’re just too tired to go? (Tired as in: “I just want to lie down for a few minutes.” Or “I really just want to veg in front of the TV/movie/WeddingBee/magazine.”)

I struggle with this all the time. I tell myself that I’ll just work out for 20 minutes. If that’s all I do, fine. If I do more, even better, but either way I’ve still worked out for the day.

I really struggle with this. I made the mistake of joining a gym 25 minutes away. But the time I get there I am exhausted! I look forward to suggestions!

I am the same way. But, i read somewhere, if you have like a protein bar or a healthy snack right before, you can boost your energy. I just try to have a good lunch. I usually go to the gym right after work, and noticed if i have like soup, or just salad for lunch then i don’t have any energy, but if i have something a little more sufficient then i have a nice work out!

I used to be a frequent flyer at the gym, but I can’t muster the energy anymore either! I am tutoring on the side to try and pay for my wedding. By the time I get home at 6 or so there is no chance I am leaving the comfort of home. I feel good about doing a small number of push-ups, and I choose between abs on the ball, or lunges and squats. Either way- I can do all of this while catching up on some TV. I am not hard on myself when I am just NOT into it. 🙂

Honestly, if I’m dragging my feet all day, I don’t go.

I second the eating a quick pick-me-up snack. Or, don’t even do a full workout. Do some sit ups and push ups and stretch. Hey, it is better than nothing!
I got sooo motivated with Wii Active a couple of weeks ago. It felt good. I really haven’t excercised much since high school sports! (Shame on me, I know)
The time of the month hit and then I had an “excuse”. I really need to get back into it!
I’ve been blessed with fast metabolism my entire life, but it’s slowing down quickly. As in I can’t fit into most of my pants over the past 2 months………

I pretty much can’t go to the gym if I’m leaving home to do it. I have to either go on the way to work or on the way home or it won’t happen!

Thanks, ladies! Definitely going to try the mini-snack/substantial lunch option. I’m like @phatkat – I totally have to load up the car with my workout outfit & water bottle, because, if I get home, I’m SOOO not leaving.
