(Closed) Working out while pregnant?

@MsJ2theZ:  Yep, I had heard that so I measured my heartrate a few times.  Even at a lower intensity that I felt good at but still felt like I was still getting a genuine workout, my heartrate was at least 145-155 on average.  But I felt ok, and I didn’t feel like I was gasping for breath so I figured I was fine.  Glad my doctor agreed!  She just said it was outdated.

There aren’t many things I could do that would stay under 140.  Other than walking (I don’t consider that a good workout for myself).

I definitely don’t push myself though.  I take a break and walk or do something else if I feel that the intensity is getting to be too much.

@NessQuick:  Congrats! I think it’s fine to continue as long as your doctor gives you the go-ahead. I stopped working out after getting my bfp, mainly out of laziness:)

Also I know iarebridezilla continued to work out and lift late into her third trimester. She’s just not around much right now since she just pushed out her baby 😉

Congrats!!! Check with your Doctor but unless your having complications you should be able to continue exerciising similar to what you did pre-preggers. Your body will naturally slow you down as your lung capacity decreases due to less room and it is not recommended that you do abs after the first trimester, anything lying on your back for an extended period of time or anything holding your breathe for extended periods of time but other than that go for it! Exercise has been my saving grace during pregnancy -saved my sanity and my weight gain! I work out with a pregnancy Trainer regularly who has adjusted certain exercises but we run, high intensity interval training, yoga, spin and weight train. I am 30 weeks today and still exercising five days a week.  My pace is definitely slower running and I do wear a heart rate monitor but if you can absolutely maintain an impressive fitness level throughout pregnancy.  Best wishes and have fun!
