    no, none at all

yes, but only the extra hours at your current job

go ahead and work the holiday retail hours, working 60 hours a week never hurt anyone!

I was really sick in the months leading up to the wedding otherwise I would have worked a lot. I’m sure lots of people do it.

I’m doing it right now. I’m a student, and I used to work full time as well until my fiance strong-armed me into cutting down my hours after one too many “end of the semester” meltdowns.

After we got engaged I picked up some extra work and didn’t tell him until after. Now — being the end of my last semester — he brings a bottle of wine home with him every night, silently pours me a glass, and tries not to make eye contact while I weep from exhaustion and stress. So pretty much, he’s perfect. :p

You know yourself best. If you can handle working 60 hour weeks for a short period of time, then do it. If not, then don’t do it.

I plan on pulling some overtime in the near future to fatten up our savings.  I won’t be getting a second job though.. it wouldn’t make sense, because any second job I get would not pay me as much as time & a half at my current job.  Plus, I’m also a full-time grad student, so I really don’t have time for two jobs, unfortunately….

Im going to be putting in an application at the make-up store that I worked at in high school/college for this very reason! I have some down time with the wedding 2 years away and I used to LOVE my old job!! I say do it!

do it while you can. I’m applying to grad schools right now for a September start and I’m just going to work my butt off until the wedding (in July). Plus when you’re doing your Masters, it will probably be nice to know you have some savings to fall back on in case of emergency and that you didn’t have to spend it all on your wedding.
