Do your jobs actually over lap at all? Otherwise is it not possible me to just ignore this person?

My workmate is a constant complainer, I try not to sit near her because I get sick of her complaining constantly. Like she’s the only one who has to deal with rubbish customers and our rota we have. It’s draining to deal with her negative attitude constantly

Start documenting things. Avoid her where possible.

Make note of comments she makes and who was around at the time to back you up. Bring it up regularly with your manager if it continues. See if anyone else agrees (discreetly).

Ive been on the side of some shitty stuff and I didn’t make notes and learnt the hard way 😑

My shitty coworker became coordinator through friendships and I believe she’s being investigated now but I’ve quit and sent in a very stern complaint letter and exit interview.

I literally could not. She made up shit all the time to belittle other staff and when I called her out on a huge lie she came down on my work hard and made my life hell so I quit. And now she will be scrambling because she is shit at her job and I ran a program which she thinks she can do on top of managing… HA sure thing mate.

I feel you. The environment I work in has become so toxic it’s unbearable. I feel physically and mentally drained by the end of the day, and wake up feeling nothing but dread every morning. Needless to say, I’ve been looking for another job.

tattooedbridetobe2 :  This “all women are catty” drives me crazy. Some of my best friends are men, so nothing against them, but I work for a female-dominant nonprofit that supports a male-dominant field, and that stereotype is simply untrue and perpetuates society’s often-detrimental view of women.

That sounds really tough to deal with. At least your manager is taking you seriously though.

I have someone in my office who is just a miserable person. She is constantly bitching about something, yelling at other people, just being a generally horrible person. The only time she laughs is when she says something mean. Everyone in the office hates her and cannot stand dealing with her. But she’s been working there longer than anyone else, and upper management refuses to even talk to her about her attitude. Just ridiculous. There are a lot of things wrong with my company that are making me actively look for another job, but this is definitely one of them.

Girl I feel you. One of the assistants got promoted to office manager recently, and she micro-manages the crap out of you. undecided

It’s like hello, I don’t report to you. I’m a paralegal, so the attorney I work for is technically my boss.

Just try your best to ignore her.
