i second yoga.

generally, i wouldn’t start anything that doesn’t suit your type/lifestyle because chances are high you won’t be able to stick to it long term. if you are not the gym person you are not. not everyone is. maybe you can extend your walks with your dogs a little bit or even add a little bit of jogging to it. how does that sound?

I’ve recently started yoga after about a million recommendations, and its relaxing but challenging enough that its a workout. if you’re like me, and don’t really move much in the first place, every little bit helps. Plus, you can for sure keep going throughout the entire 9 months.

Another thing that works for me is step class. I have a step program for the Wii, but have gotten to the point where I just know the patterns. So I flip on the TV (usually a 40 minute Netflix show), and just step onto either the Wii board or a few big textbooks. Its pretty mindless, but a workout just the same.
